Jacana runs two Adviser Office User Groups: one in Newcastle upon Tyne and one in Belfast and supports other groups throughout the UK, particularly the Northern User Group run by Sue White. Set up specifically for Adviser Office users they are fully supported by Iress and are a great way of regularly meeting other users and keeping up with developments.
The aims of the groups are:
- To act as a platform from which to liaise with Iress on the development of Adviser Office, and going forward, XPLAN
- To provide access to affordable training
- To share with other users your experience of Adviser Office and XPLAN
Details of the three groups are as follows:
North East User Group
Set up in 1999, membership now extends outside of the North East boundary, across to Cumbria, up to the Borders. The group meets on the third Tuesday of every other month.
All meetings commence at 10am and finish at 1.30pm. They are held at our offices in North Shields –

Belfast User Group
Set up in 2008, membership is open to all users within Northern Ireland. The group sessions will take place the first Wednesday of every other month, and last approx. 2.5 hours.
From 2019, all Belfast user group sessions will be held online unless otherwise advised.

Sheffield User Group
Set up in 2015, this group meets on the second Wednesday of every third month.
All meetings commence at 10am and finish no later than 4pm. They are held at:
